About

On November 8, 2002, my life changed forever. I suffered a spinal cord injury during the last football game of my sophomore year in high school that paralyzed me from the shoulders down ending my sports career. A couple of weeks after suffering the injury, I remember receiving the poem “Education First” by Shahidah. The message, no matter what you may lose in life, your education cannot be taken away.

Growing up on the westside of Thibodaux, Louisiana in the neighborhood “Midland” I once felt sports was my only way to escape the 114 housing projects. But after understanding the importance of having an education my view on life changed.

I graduated high school with five academic scholarships, received my Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Nicholls State University in 2010, and obtained my MBA in 2016 from Southern University A&M of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

The Myron Wright Foundation had already been established in 2007, helping hundreds of individuals over the years; However, I wanted to continue with the impact on the community. Therefore, in 2013 I started working consistently and patiently with a Business Consultant at South Louisiana Economic Council on a business plan for a academic center.

On Sunday, October 8, 2017 M.D. Wright Academic Center opened their doors with a mission: TO PROVIDE AMBITIOUS MINDS WITH THE FOUNDATION FOR ACADEMIC SUCCESS BY OFFERING HOMEWORK HELP, TUTORING, ACT & SAT PREPARATION, AND COLLEGE ADMISSION CONSULTING.
